Walworth Methodist Church

July 2 2019 saw the launch of the 76 solar panels that are now installed on the roof of Walworth Methodist Church.

These panels:

  • provide cheaper, greener electricity for the church and for all the community groups meeting on the premises.
  • help them shift towards renewables, leading the way for other churches and community groups.

Additional funds generated by selling surplus energy to the national grid, will be used to support and maintain the Southwark Peace Garden (pictured below) which the church created in its courtyard in response to violent crime in the neighbourhood.
