SE24 has embarked on our biggest ever finance raise: £250,000 through a community share offer followed by £400,000 via a bond issue.

We’ve reached our target!

£269,750 invested Target: £250,000
100%

We’re utterly delighted to have exceeded our target by close to £20,000.

Thanks so much to everyone who has invested or spread the word of the share offer.

This means that we can start using the money on our LED projects straight away!

We will update you all on our progress as soon as we get started.

Invest in our Bond Offer

We have now opened Phase 2 of our finance raise – a Bond offer in conjunction with Ethex.

We are looking to raise a further £400,000 to complete our six solar PV and four LED installations across south east London.

As of April 16th, we’re already 65% of the way there, which is fantastic news, but still leaves us with work to do before the Bond Offer closes on May 29th.

If you’d like to understand more about the difference difference between the Share offer and the Bond offer, we’ve written a blog that explains the difference.

What we’ll do with the invested money

Hot on the heels of completing our 2024 projects with London and South East Academy Trust we have opportunity to undertake another six solar PV and4 LED installations including one in SE24’s home patch – Heron Academy which was formerly the Michael Tippet School in Heron Road.

We also have the biggest solar opportunity yet over at Bacon’s College in Rotherhithe.

Why invest?

There are plenty of reasons why investing in the 2026 Share offer is a good idea – for the planet, for your local community and for you.

  1. Help UK meet its zero carbon target
  2. Help your local school save money
  3. Help your local school reduce its carbon emissions
  4. Show how much you care about the planet
  5. Join a growing community energy group
  6. Help SE24 build its local portfolio
  7. Put your spare savings to good use and secure a 4-6% return on your investment (capital at risk)
  8. Work with others in your local community towards Net Zero
  9. Help alleviate fuel poverty (through our Community Fund)
  10. Show our government that you support action on climate change

What we’ve delivered so far

With your help and investment we’ve already made a great contribution to community-owned energy, reducing the energy costs of local schools and helping to alleviate fuel poverty through our community fund.

  • 10 rooftop solar projects – producing over 570 MWh produced per year, equivalent to more than 200 households’ consumption
  • Over 3,000 LED lightbulbs – Lower electricity consumption, bills and CO2 emissions in four schools and one church/community site
  • Over 300 local fuel-poor households supported – Our Community Fund has disbursed over £24,000
  • Over 300 tonnes of CO2 avoided per year –  The equivalent to taking more than 200 vehicles off the road
  • Over £1.8m in lifetime savings – lifetime energy cost savings delivered for local residents, schools, churches and hospitals from current projects.

“To any other schools who are considering taking these steps and working with SE24, I would just say do it. It’s been a win-win situation for us.”

What’s the difference between the Share offer and the Bond Issue?

We’ve put together a blog post explaining why we’re doing both and what the difference is between them.

  • New solar PV installations for spring 2026
This spring, we have completed two new solar installations. We have installed panels at the Aspire Academy (capacity 73 kWp), and completed Phase 2 of our installation at Harris Girls East Dulwich (taking their total capacity to 133 kWp).
